Wind picked up around 9:30am, but there where plenty of small fish east of Bernasconi. Early morning bite was fun, had 4 small ones all on Robos. Good to be back in SoCal. Looking forward to Convict Lake next month.

Will be my first time up there. We are planning 23-26JUL. My brother is driving from Vegas and we are going to pitch a tent. The Convict Website is helpful, but any info on the campground and fishing would be helpful. Thanks man.

I just got back from camping at Convict about three weeks ago. It was my first time fishing there but I had some help from my friends who go there every year. The creek was loaded with fish, even saw a few three pounders that wouldn't bite. We caught most of our stream fish below the two big pools right under the lake. There were lots of fish in those pools but there was also lots of people there. Most of the fish were on trout traps. The lake was also really good to me in the morning. We float tubed the jetty and outlet area. We all ended up with our limits and plenty to spare. All of the lake fish were on gold thomas bouyants. I'm heading up to the Rock Creek area next week. message on their message board and will probably get plenty of responses.
