The bass were chewing this morning, unfortunetly, so was the cold rain! Whacked 7 or 8 fish between us in the boat between 7 and 8 a.m., most on down shot little purple creatures, could have been great but the rain came down hard and it was butt cold, we bailed. Hopefully next trip we will whack them better.

I heard that lake is hurting a bit--no shad, all died off? where is water level at? I used to go back in 91-93. is it worth joining again?

Hi Fongster- Yeah, all the shad are gone, lots of the bass are really skinny, not too healthy looking. Lots of numbers, but they need to dump some shad in there. Lots of rumors, but no shad yet. The water level is rising right now, it's pretty high. I think I'd wait and see what happens with the shad and stuff before I laid down any cash. Have you fished Irvine or Mission lately? I did fish Lake Forrest I on lunch today, they were biting, I got four decent fish in less then an hour.

What is Bob charging for a membership these days?

Not sure, I think 5 bills- luckily I get to fish for free- still a really fun lake to fish, seems like the fish down by the dam are way skinnier then the fish up in the brush and back in Vietnam. I hope they dump some shad in there- I'm fishing there or LMV Saturday, probably MV because I haven't been in awhile and I want a hawg. Tight lines!
