Fished north of Dana Point yesterday morning with Bryan Davis. Not sure of the exact areas we fished but I don't think it matters for the report. We just picked out good looking boilers and fished them. Had fun with a constant pick of calicos in the 1 to 2 lb. range on most of the rocks we threw at. Very few sand bass. Big fish of the day was a nice 4 lb. 7 oz. calico that really wanted to get back to her rock after she was hooked - nice fight but I won :) Also, picked up a barely short seabass.

Fished spinnerbaits, crankbaits (ripbaits actually), and swimbaits. All of the fish came on 4 to 5.5 inch swimbaits fished as close to the rocks (submerged or exposed) as possible without getting snagged. Most of the strikes were on the grind.

Hot colors were:
Bryan: Pierce's Perch, Rainbow Trout, Redrum
Pete: Blue Shad, Red Calico Hunter

You can't catch tomorrow what you kill today - please practice catch and release.
