Hey all of you calfishermen that wrote me back, I just wanted to say that I don't keep under sized halibut or more than my limit on halibut. That was someone that put words in my mouth. I just wanted to know if anyone wanted to go fishing at Goleta beach on saturday. I am 17 years old and a junior at DP and I have been fishing at goleta beach since 1989, and for halibut since 1996 so I know how to fish for halibut, but maybe not as good as you guy's although i never fished with you guys. so come out to goleta and fish. MAYBE YOU GUY'S WILL MAKE A NEW FISHING PARTNER.

Can't make it this Saturday. I'll be out there tomorrow morning though. We'll hook up some other time. Good luck!

Fished this morning from 8:30 - 11:30. Conditions looked good, water temp 60 degrees. Only squeaked out two short halibut. One on a 4 inch Fishtrap and one on a Fastrac. Nothing in shallow both fish were in taken in 8 ft. of water.

Ruben I apologize if I insulted you. I was just having fun adding gas to the fire of the smackfest between "Harbor King", "Harbor Rat", and whomever else wanted to join in stirring the pot. You seem like a stand up guy from your posts as I'm sure the others are. I wish I lived in your area so we could make peace while hooking up on some Halibut.

Tight lines,
Wade

Harbor King, I live up near San Jose so it can be kind of hard to find the time to make a trip down there, not to mention the funds. Between 2 small children and a wife that works most weekends so I have to watch the kids, it can be hard to find enough time for a serious fishing trip. I'd love to go down there and show you how a real man gets his Hali's on Lures, but it might not happen for a while. How can I get ahold of you when I finally can make it happen? Besides posting here I mean.

Tight lines,
Wade

Ruben, I told a friendly tuber about this site a couple of Sunday's ago off the creek mouth at Goleta. He was fishing smelt from a Plano bucket and doing better than we were with dead anchovies. I was on a mango colored yak and my buddy (Bucky)was on a white one. Was that you?

Either way, welcome to the site, and see you at Goleta.

Fuzzy
