Nothin to get jazzed about. Perched the a.m. incoming tides yesterday and today. Santa Anas were blowing pretty good and lots of sun. Not too much salad and no sign of any crab beds. I think they are gone for the season.

I never have done too well during periods of high pressure and full moon cycles in the surf.

Left today with around 5-6 Bardies caught and released in the 10-11" range. Big Hammer 1.75 Motoroil/Red Flake and Kalin 1.5" Motoroil/Gold Flake got bit the most. Alot of short bites. Usually my little Fenwick 9'0" HMXS is good with quik hook sets but today I missed at least 3 Godzillas. There was a drastic drop in water temp over the past few days which might have attributed to the lack of action.

On a bright note, a little boy and his mother who were visiting from New Mexico stopped and talked with me for a bit . The little boy was 5 and had never caught a fish in his life. While we were talking, I hooked up and handed the rod to him. He landed a 9" Bard and I don't know who was more stoked him or his mom! :D

She took pictures and I gave her my address so she could send me one. That made my day.

Crabs seem to still be there....just in fewer numbers. Dig deep and you should find a lonely crab every once and a while. last time i was out i found a lot of soft shells about a foot deep in the sand
