I need to ask you guys NOT to bump posts to the top of the forum. It it not appropriate. If you want to discuss an old topic, put a link to it and make a new post please. I am not kidding, I am serious. I don't want the top of the forum to be a string of old posts from years ago.

Thats cool! Sorry about that.. I was just thinking that there wasnt a need to make ANOTHER thread about a topic that was already on the forum. It just made more sense to me. But its ok.. i wont do it again..

OK, Rob. Do you have a cutoff for "old" topic. For example, no one has replied to the saltwater post of February 7th from the guy on the East Coast who wanted to know about norcal vs. socal fishing regarding his pending move to the Palo Alto or the LA area. After a while, if there are still no replies, I might give him my opinion although there might well be others who are more qualified. When would that Feb 7th post be old.

6 months seems reasonable to me... or you know figure if it's 3 pages back maybe it's time for a new topic. I need to learn how to archive posts after a certain time so that it's just not an option to bump old posts. This forum release doesn't have a convenient way to do it.

oh i see now. Cause some of the other forumsi post on think its unescesarry to add new ones when they have the same thread a couple of pages later. They always tell me im "cluttering" the board if i make a new thread from an old topic. But different rules for differnt boards i guess!
