I'm pleased about the tough decision these guys are making. It shows a lot of character and class on their part. I mean, what a tough thing to deal with, with the eyes of the world on you.

I don't typically like to chime in on controversial or charged topics, but in this case and what appears to be the path these guys are taking, I give them HUGE props.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and thank them for salvaging a lot of things for all of us...even so far as to say, they've done a lot for California, and in particular, Southern California...a place that is often called out for lack of integrity and character.

Mac, Jed, and Mike, you guys have the respect of this guy. Now, turn off your cell phones, and get back on the lake and find that big girl again and get her in the boat again with a hook coming from inside-out of her mouth!

That takes some real balls to not turn in the fish. They made all the right choices with that fish. There is no doubt in my mind that it is the same fish that Jed and Mike caught. I just couldn't imagine how pissed he was to see that it was snagged. There goes a ton of money right there.

Has anyone found any other photos of that fish.

I'm almost positive they will catch the record,

I'm really happy that they didnt send it in; they want it to be clear cut, without a trace of discrepency

Yup, if they had pursued it & gotten it authenticated, it would've opened the gates for any future trophy-hunters to go after a potential record with no reason to try & do it the 'right' way. Way to go, Mac! Y'done good!

At least we know with NO DOUBT there *is* a world-record bass still out there. I guess it'll be caught in due time (hopefully, they'll give this mama a break, at least for a while!).
