Yeah, check out the Dobyns 806 ML SB or the 806 H SB. They're both 8', exposed, blank under the reel seat, longer handles, and should fit what you're looking for exactly. The Mike Long version has the Hypalon butt section, the 806H has the Cork butt section.

I have to agree with Supermatt, Both those rod choices are spot on :-) . I have the 806H and it is an extremely nice big bait rod and will handle all the big baits nicely, I am using the Dobyn's 795ML for Matt Lures, Basstrix, Mission fish size baits and it is very very nice :-) Hope it helps

You can drive up to Galixie Marine in Newcastle they have the Dobyns rods. You may want to check out their 7'9 MH rod it looked very sweet for the smaller swimbaits.

Hey TM I know Fisherman's Warehouse in Rocklin had an 806h and sportsman's warehouse had the ML795 and 806. I don't know about the Sacramento location. Check out these rods. They're both fantastic and sound like they're exactly what you're looking for.

I used to think the Lamiglas XC807 was the shiznit. That was until I got the Dobyns ML795. The ML795 makes the Lamiglas feel like a club and I mean significant difference in weight as well as balance. Make no mistake about it the Lamiglas Big Bait rod is a great rod tho.
