Thank you for the kind words, GGR and Bavnuts. Very much appreciated. Being busy with family and work, I'm only able to get out 3 or 4 times a month. Since my time on the water is limited, I try to select lakes that I feel will give me good opportunities for quality fish based on the time of year and current conditions. I've been fortunate lately and the fish have been cooperating pretty well.

Great job on the 10" P-Sticks, Bavnuts. Thanks again!

I'm thoroughly impressed, not only by the catches, but also the quality of the bass. I had no idea that Washington state bred nothing but chunk football bass and dinner plate smallmouth! Thanks for always taking the time to post the pics Tag.

Tag -

Looks like the smallies like the KGM Swimbaits. Were you fishing the KGM Swimbaits on the bottom or were you swimming them up in the water column?

Tim

Hey Tim,

On this particular trip, I was fishing the KGM swimbait on a 1 oz. Revenge Swimbait Head in the 28 to 40 foot zone. Some of the bites came on or near the bottom but the majority of the better fish were suspended.

Most of the smallmouth were suspending on the shady side of deep structure. We caught several limits of quality fish on Sunday off of our typical fall areas but the smallies were relating more loosely to the structure than they normally do this time of year. However, we didn't find the smallmouth roaming off shore in open water like we will find in mid-summer.
