I was fishing one of Matts Bluegill baits and as I was winding up for a cast, I lobbed it out and the body flew off the weight and hook system! The body just floated out of reach and the hook system was of no use to me so I tossed it. Has this ever happened to anyone with any swimbait?

This one has seen its fair share of fish, so could wear and tear be the cause?

I had a similar problem with my first Matt's bluegill bait, but since then I have learned to glue the small tears early and keep them mended. I caught 30 or more fish on the one that finally fell apart, so it's not like it was defective. They are very resilient baits, but tending to them makes them last a lot longer.
