Nope ICSpots was right the first time! It's official guys! Byron Velvick won the BASS Elite event at Clear Lake using a Jerry Rago swimbait called the Velvick 3D. Byron won the tournament with a total weight of 98 pounds 6 ounces and won the event by almost 6 pounds. He weighed Big Fish on day one and day four; with the biggest weighing over 10 pounds. All caught on the Rago swimbait. This win is awesome, not only for Byron; but for Jerry Rago as well. Jerry has been making great swimbaits for years and it's awesome to see him get this kind of exposure.
Congrats to both Byron Velvick and Jerry Rago for a incredible win!

Nice call ICSpots!...
Byron Velvick did a good job... A bunch of those guys did!... And though I was pulling for Skeet (this time), who gave it a good go, it would've been cool seeing Guy Eaker take it... Kicking all the "youngin's" butts at age 70!... But I'm fine with Byron taking it... not that I would've lost sleep if anyone else had...
Man, I guess everyone and their mothers are going to be trying to get themselves a Rago Velvick BV 3D, now... O.o ... Maybe I can get my mother to buy one for me when she gets hers!... (Since my wife probably won't let me try to fit another swimbait into the budget... Um... what budget?)... (O.o) ...

Glad to see Byron win it. I'm totally impressed that his spot lasted 4 days. Really thought on the final day that someone would come in with a 35lb+ sack. I guess the bedfish never locked up to where people could get on them. Can't wait to watch the finished TV episode on Bass Insider when it's done.

I thought the exact same thing! Good to see Byron win though and great to see Rago win as well. Hope you don't mind Rob, here's a interview I found with Jerry Rago on the bait and Byron's win. Thought it was cool.
