I agree. The Stocker trout has good action on a fast retrieve. The new MissionFish Sidewinders also swim really good when burned. In fact, one of the reasons I don't use these baits all that much is because they have to be retrieved a little too fast for most situations.

i took a look at a stocker the other day. it looked like it might tare if it gets really pounded. have you guys had any problems with that? i'd like to know before spending thirty bucks on one. thanks

Yes the Stocker trout, like all rubber baits, is going to be prone to tearing. Mine didn't really tear on the hinge where you would think. It did tear up around the hook though. They are slightly fixable with some glue, so it's possible to make it last a little longer after a fish shreds it.

I believe the MS slammer would burn much easier than the Sidewinder, Parmu, or Stocker. Plastic tends to melt while wood burns pretty great. Hope this helps! Ha ha ha !

You know what, I just re-read your question and noticed you said swimbait OR plug. In that case, I would also consider getting a 12" MS Slammer. You can burn them pretty fast and they will stay on top. The 12" version makes alot of commotion on the surface and the strikes are awesome!!!

At Castaic I've noticed some people doing well when they burn and "S" Plug/Smirk lure. I don't know how well it works for largemouth but I've seen some nice stripers get caught on it.

Hey Guys,
I have caught 200+ fish on the Stocker Trout and have had only one tear at the wing. That one was torn after I hooked a fish and 8 or 10 others were trying to eat it out of its mouth. One of the other fish grabbed a hold of the wing and ripped it in half. Other than that, if you hook fish on the main hook, there's a chance of it ripping but easily fixable.

wow! 200+ on the stocker. thats impressive. a problem i had glueing my optimum was that there was this oil that it has on it. it makes the glue not stick to the acutal bait, and just to the jig head, but the stocker doesnt seem to have that on it so it should be easier once it needs repair.my next bait is definetly that 12" ms slammer, it will be my big fish bait. and i will take a look at that s plug/smirk lure. i bought the stocker today and it looks awesome, i cant wait to throw it. thanks for the help guys.
