if your going to check out the Mission Fish, check out the new Bluegill as well. www.316lurecompany.com.
I recently went out after some Calicos with a buddy in his 17 Whaler. We just fished fro about 3 hours and threw nothing but the 3:16 baits. The Mission fish stood up to the test of those Calico's pretty darn good, with each bait catching no less then 5 fish up to 4 lbs a peice. I had one bait that just couldnt hold up any longer after about 10 or so fish on it. A little expansive for 5 fish, but the excitement of pulling them out of the thickest kelp on the weedless swimbaits is the ultimate. Speaking of thick kelp, everseen a Calico eat a Sumo From? Fun stuff, its amazing how similatr to Largemouth they really are!!

Evil Barracuda!!!!!:)
I threw a Sidewinder for about 6 cranks of the hnadle until a 15" cuda decided he wanted to chew on the back half. The baits dont quite run the same without the rest of the body, but I did get bit by something when I threw it out for the next cast just to get a laugh, something actually bit it!! Crazy ocean fish!!!! Why cant Largemouth act a little more like Calicos as far as thier eating habbits......if it swims, or moves through the water by any means, EAT IT!!!! gota love them for that:)
gona go back out and get some more next week, hopefull I'll have a couple pics this time.

Cam, did you throw the frog for the checkers? I keep forgetting to throw one in my box for them, but I have thought about it ALOT! In my experience, they don't blow up through the kelp to grab something dragged on top (Slug-gos and stuff), but I want to throw the frog for them- especially when I'm in the middle of really thick kelp on the board, they are hitting bait on top, but hard to catch- I'll get it wired soon...

yeah big bass swimbaits dont mix with ocean. Unless they are like the MS Slammer that might be cool. but youd have to buy some tails because youd lose alot.

I did throw the frog, got one fish on it and missed another. Didnt really throw it except in one thick area where I saw a few fish come up through it and crash bait.
theBluegill works just like the shad. Between 5-10 fish per bait, but it gets bit alot.....

Cam, had some nice fish (6-8 lbs.) follow the 'gill today at LMV, no love, though- I like that bait, hopefully have some quality fish to report soon! Actually had quite a few followers, especially in open water, 20-25', nice shoulders on them-
