Went over to the quarry ponds in Pleasanton(not a public lake)Well any way I went float tubing there and it was turning to be a normal day on the water I took a buddy with me that i'm teaching. I caught 6 bass my friend 2 all on spinnerbaits, then after my fifth fish I noticed that the skirt was covering the head of the spinnerbait so I cut the skirt down a little bit then I make a cast at a brush pile in about 5 feet of water. As i'm reeling in I feel a tick so I slow it down and BOOM! I brought the fish in thinking it's a small bass but it was a 1LB 11Oz 12 1/2 IN sunfish! Too bad I didn't have a camera. What a day!
Well he faught like a small bass except he dove like a catfish right when I set the hook and no I didn't keep him. I think that if theres big panfish there, there must be big bass! ThAnX, C.B.
DErEK I live in the area and I have been trying to locate some "Private" ponds. I have found old lake isabel. I fished it. It is very hard acess. a tube is not possible. The fishing was awsome!. In 1 hour I had 15 fish all on a buzz bait. top 3 were all 5lbs each! Great night on the water. I have been searching using arial photos. I have pics of all the waters in that area. which one are you talking about. I would be very interested in picking your brain on where and how to get into these areas. Maybe we can trade info?! Drop me a line and we'll talk. I have attached a picture of the area. I have some great arials of most the area.
