Hi Everyone:

My son and I are new to kickboats and well boat ownership of any kind. What kind of 12 volt battery set-up is needed to run a trolling motor, fish finder, and live well on a kickboat all day. And is there a brand of batter or place to purchase that will give the most bang for my buck.

Thanks ahead of time for all replies.

When I use my trolling motor, I use a standard 12V deep cycle trolling battery. I use a small 10AH battery to run my graph and livewell. Even if I'm using all at once, I still use both batteries.

I very seldom ever use my trolling motor. The motor and battery add a lot of weight to your boat. The small 7AH and 10AH batteries are only around 5-7 lbs and will run your graph alone for days on end. Your livewell will depend on the amp draw of your pump and how much you run it.

You can pick up a standard trolling battery at walmart for about $40. Most of the guys here are using the 7AH battery and charger from Cabela's. It about $30 for the set.
