I posted this over on the boat mod. board but this one gets a lot more traffic and there are some bright guys on this board so I thought I would ask here.
I need help rewiring the plug for my 12/24 t-motor. The old plug was wired wrong and I kept poping a fuse. There are 4 (two black, two red) at the front of the boat so I do not think the batteries are wired in a series or line or whatever it is you call it.
So how do I wire the batteries in a series/line and come out with three wires to connect to the t-motor plug (black, orange, red) I am a electrical idiot but I think I can do this myself. Want to get it done tonight so I can fish this weekend. Thanks.

I'll take a swing at this. I assume that for your three wires you want a ground, a + 12v, and a + 24v. If true then wire it like this:
Put the black wire on the negative terminal of battery A; this will be your ground. Connect the positive terminal on battery A to the negative terminal on battery B. Connect the wire (red or orange) that is supposed to deliver 12 volts to either the poitive terminal of battery A or the negative terminal of battery B (since they are connected, they are elecitrically the same. Might be easier to keep straight if you connect it to the positive terminal of battery A). Connect the wire that is supposed to deliever 24 v to the positive terminal on battery B. I tried to put a diagram in but this sucked up the blanks.
Hope this helps. Remember this is free advice; if you fry it I won't buy it! If you want to talk about it, call my cell 831-359-1049.

I rigged up the batteries and it works great, now when I go to charge them do I need to each one seperatly or can I put hook up the neg. charger clip to the neg.post on battery A and the pos. charger clip to the pos. post on battery B?
