thanks richie. i tried to duplicate your efforts, and try to flip out that 12lber you had last time but i fell a bit short..... great job to all who suffered through the heat. i got on to the flip bite first thing and had 3 nice ones before sun up. so i stuck it out and flipped my azz off all day. thanks for the spot BENNO, got a sweet keeper there. other than that the rest came off pretty much the same stretch of about 20 yrds of tules through-out the day. i exhausted 3 packs of the oxblood sweet beaver, 2 packs of double-wide oxblood beavers and 1 pack of the oxblood innovation tube baits, the beavers evil step child..... first time using their tube... i highly suggest it. about 1230 pm i met up with mr sweatt at the damm and tried a little drop shottin. bill said to quit the finessing and go back to flippin..... thanks for the advice homie. 2:00 pm came around and thats when i flipped out the 5.2- something to finish out the day. thanks to everyone, mr nunez.... way to go dude,your a good learner.... as for you Carson... you scare me! lol .your a good stick, keep it up.... mr joe C thanks for showing me the 4 eyes secret tip }( dave S your always the man. lastly thanks SCOTTIE BEAM for the fun fishing on sat at clear lake we sleighed dude ! :+ thats it. see ya all in the dark at clearlake ..... that was a fun tournament, except for the fact sunday night i caught a fever/strept/upset stomach etc. etc. all in one and have been just sittin and sleepin the last 3 days. my day was basically all flipping, i threw a frog here and there in the morning and a senko here and there but only caught dinks. i only had 3 fish in the well by 1:00, my next fish, a 3.5, let me know what i needed to be doin and from then on i caught 10 more keeper fish, and lost a bunch, including 2 solid 3+ fish. like they always say, never give up, im starting to believe it. congrats on the win deren and for staying solid joe, and to my buddy kevin for stickin big fish, just got him into fishing last summer and now he is fishing tournaments and stickin 6.5's in them, nice!

Congrats on the big win Deren. That’s two so far. Congrats to Carson and Joe on their good finishes. Carson, I thought you had it this time. I started off just like I did at the open. My first fish on was a nice one and I lost it. I flipped my jig and got a few 12 ¾ fish but no keepers. Switched over to the sweet beaver and finally got into a couple of nice fish over 3 lbs each. Kept working the tulles and could only catch dinks. The breeze would kick up from time to time and I would toss a spinner bait and finally got a keeper on the spinner bait. Decided to work a nice weed patch bordering deep water and caught another keeper but just barely. Kept working the area with a senko and finally got one around 5 lbs. I knew there was more big fish there but they wouldn’t cooperate. I needed to cull my two dinks for a shot at the win but just didn’t happen. Had a good time and looking forward to Clear Lake.
