While everyone else was watching football (present company excepted), I was out looking for that 1st fish of '06, and -- after about *3 hours* of trying -- I finally got her. She was a nice 2-1/2'er (pretty good for Anderson!), just off the launch ramp, on a brown & orange jig crawled slowly on the bottom. Boy, was it nice to feel that lure *pull back* again!!! :7 First jig fish in awhile, too, which I rather enjoyed. I hadn't pulled in a jig fish in probably over a year, painstaking as it was to crawl it so slowly, inch by inch across the bottom. Missed another coupla bites, but at least I can say I've officially broken in the new license! (Sorry, no pics).

Alright, I'm ready now -- Bring Awn the Spawn! Big Mama's comin' UP (if she ain't there already)!

Nice to see you had some luck at Anderson! Me and a few other guys had the same idea and took the boats out to Almaden. All of us were on fish. 2 guys landed 5, I landed 3 and another landed 2. My biggest was 3lbs 2oz and the biggest of the day was 4lbs.

It's funny you mentioned jig fishing and dragging it slowly. We weren't even dragging them. We were letting them sit for 1-2 minutes at a time. I couldn't believe it! I had to take a phone call and I let it sit for about 4 minutes and landed my biggest in the middle of the conversation with the plumber! :D That was my first time catching fish on jigs. You really know there is a fish there...tick tick WHAM!!!

Same here guys, went out to Almaden on Sat with a friend and caught two, a 2# and 3# before a ranger kicked us off the lake for being illegally parked! Bass caught on a sweet beaver. On the way home I stopped at the Calero stables for a few casts, about my forth cast I nailed a 5# on a crank bait! :9 not bad for a start.

Ya Mitch, there's water in the creek but it still needs a few more ft to get good back there. Bailey cove is about half filled. I caught that fish at the mouth of the creek channel. Let me know when ever you wanna go!

I saw the anderson posts, so I went out yesterday and today. Yesterday was sunny and warm and the fish were eating dartheads and spinnerbaits. 11 for the day yesterday, nothing over two pounds. Today was colder and windy and the darthead fish quit, and started hitting a dropshot. Got one two pounder off the damn on a TD vibe, and threw a swimbait but the water has a lot of color to it. Sun came out for a while, so I started flippin a jig to what cover is availiable, and I got cracked" in a tree, Stickbreaker! and out came an 8lb2oz Anderson pig. Biggest for anderson so far and biggest this year for me. only 7 fish today but that big one was sweet:-)

Congrat's on the BIG PIG! See below for the one my buddy caught there in July, back in the 5mph cove in the middle of the lake, across from the launch ramp. Maybe we'll start seeing some of these bigger ones more often out of here. A few guys have told tales of good days with numbers of 3-4 lb'ers, at least. Personally, I tend to just get alot of 1- to 2-lb'ers, although I've found a coupla nicer ones.

Yeah Jeff, that is the same cove I caught this one in. And like you were saying all I usually catch is 1-2 pounders with an occational 3.
