If you guys go with the helicopter lure, can I use dynamite? I'd limit myself to one, well placed stick...there are some bass out there who have got it coming!

Ok..OK I confess.. I have a set of the Banjo lures. I got it as a gift but have never used it. I think I also gave my bro a set of Helicopter lures years ago. MY BAD.. but if you have a tourney, count me in.

Yeah I fell for this one a couple of years ago because they were on a closeout bin at Big 5. The funny this is that I've actually caught 5 fish on them, (all but 1 were dinks) but I don't think I was fishing them the right way.
As for a Barni tournament, I'd be in for a Barni tournament on Anderson or some other bay area lake. :D

...can be the baine of our existence or something to be disected for the good parts. I have recieved a few of these chincy gifts myself. The Helicopter lure kit actually has a good box, good hooks, and good swivels (once you seperate them). The lures are best donated to that annoying little brat down the street especially when I can get a lawn mowing out of them. The Flying Lure kit also had an OK box, and the lures actually will work in the right situation. Properly hidden in the right place you can have them without enduring the jeers of other fishermen. The Banjo minnows I got came in a pathetic box that died quickly, as for the rest, the hooks were given to a nice respectful kid at the lake (don't meet to many of them), the rubber bands have no earthly use other than orthodonthia, the lures I haven't decided what to do with, the spring things went into my jig box for trailers. A final thought, to quote Patrick F. McMannus "Don't Sniff a gift fish", just cut it up for catfish bait.
Tight lines, Wade
P.S. I'd be up for "The Ultimate Barney Tourney" if it was held at a South bay lake. How about the most pathetic fish wins? Extra points for Carp, Goldfish, or other pestulence.
Tight lines, Wade

I think Calero would be a nice spot for the Barney tournament. Plenty of shoreline for tubers, boats and shore fishing. Heck, we could even accept walk up entries (seeing as they're easy to spot at this lake). :D
Of course Chabot takes the cake on avg barney's/per day.
