1st off I'm glad my ex-inlaws are being so cool and extended the same open invitation to come up and fish any time.:) They've done alot to the house and dock. I got there and on the water about 7.30 friday evening and found the lake to be up and the water with a nice stain but still kinda clear.(about 1-2' visability) Of course I started with a spook and only got one small boil so I changed up to a spinner.with the bats coming out and starting to get dark I get SLAMMED!Wham about 4#,2 casts later another good fish whacks my blade about4.5#!:D Next about 5 minutes later a solid 5#er inhaled the blade!I must be dreaming, about 45 minutes on the water and about 13#s! After that the bite slowed a bit,but the blade still was getting hit.Ended up with 6 fish nailing the blade with the biggest 3 being the ones mentioned above. The next morning was a bit slower though I still got some good blade fish.Nothing under 3.5#.:) After the sun came up I found some beds and sight fished the rest of the morning getting 5 fish to attack my jig.Again all the fish went 4-5#:D That night got out around 7.00 and found more aggresive big fish ready for my blade! After darek the bite slowed so I switched to black/blue t2 midnite special blade and just gave it a nice steady retreive and they were all over it! This by far the best bite I've had on this lake! But as the weekend boat traffic increased my #'s decreased. Also when I went out sunday morning I noticed there were hardly any bed fish left,so I must have caught the last couple of days of the spawn.
I can't wait to go back! Swampy P.s.the water temp went from 71 in the mornings to almost 75 by the end of the day :7
