There are a couple of solutions on how to mount the transducer. One is on an arm that swings down, so you can pull it up out of the water when transporting or when in shallow water. Another is to perminently mount it on an arm that holds it just at water level (Only works if you don't have to tear down the kickboat for transport). I've seen transducer arms that you can buy, or you need to frabricate one. If you have a trolling motor, you can mount it on that, but not for tournaments. Larry Nakamura

The transducer needs to be facing forward. Forward is the point or rounded end, the backside is usually flat. Note; If you mount the transducer close to where your fins will hang down in the water, it will probably pick them up as fish. Just something to be aware of. Maybe show up for the delta open and take a look first hand at everyones setup. I went to a couple of tournaments to see how everything was done before I bought a kickboat. Usually it takes trial and error to find out what works for your needs.
