#40255, "2009 BnT Schedule question"
Mon Nov-17-08 11:24 AM by mteman

I know it's a little early to start thinking about a schedule but... Let's assume we are going back to a single region schedule, What bodies of water do you guys want to fish next year? Tell me where and what month please.

I will put together a list of places you guys come up with and do some research to see if it's possible. Then we can consider them for next years schedule.

Rivera mentioned Eastman in another post. That's a start!

I would like to have the "Open" moved up to April.
How about Lake Sonoma in March?
All Delta, all summer!
Rancho Seco at night in Sept (full moon only).

Just my $.02

If you could get the permits for lakes like Del Valle I'll be there!

Not that I've fished that many events with you guys but might try to hit up a few more delta events next year as that's pretty much all I've been fishing...

Sonoma can kick some major bass in March and even in Feb if the weather conditions will dictate.

Have you guys every considered Italian Slough for a tournament? Lots of parking and I've even been able to find some green fish in there!

Tod,I take it you are driving up the levy road from lazy m?How far can you drive up?I launch my boat at riversend all the time and fish italian alot(mainly behind widow but do get down to the other end.)
Have you ever been down there in the summer?lots of yahoo boat traffic in there(I've almost got hit in the champion) :o This time of year it's pretty safe to kickboat back there but I'm not sure about the warmer months.I know of some deeper wood in there and it can be great with jigs, senkos and frogs. }( If ya ever want to check it out from a boat, let me know. There is a ton of great water down south and some big feesh too!:+ Last year my bro caught a striper that was between 50-60 lbs on a stacy! and his pb lmb(10.6?)both fish came within 30 yards of each other.
Maybe I'll see ya on the river down there,Swampy

Hey Swampy,

Yes, I've seen how many boats are down there in summer months just fishing from the shore. I would love to check out more areas and have tried fishing primarily in the south since I live so close.

Can you drop me an e-mail with your contact info (I'm sure I had it at one point... x( ). iamdot@yahoo.com

I imagine if you do 1 region you will have 10 events. no Jan and no Dec? Why not have all 3 opens and the invite as part of the schedule. that leaves 6 events to add.

here are my thoughts

feb. Folsom, oroville, Collins any of those could be fun.

march Eastman would be cool, but a lot of rules. if eastman dont work the 1 of the above

april Coyote open
May Clear Lake Open
June Delta
July Delta Open
Aug. Delta Night
Sep. Delta
Oct. SCBBBC Clear Lake
Nov. Naci

There won't be enough water in Folsom by the spring months. It will take a MAJOR snowmelt to put even a little water back after this year.

I will second that John! Looks good....I do have a personal goal for this year, attend a kickboat tournament on the Delta. I have yet to fish that place from the kickboat.

Lake, that's a good schedule. I've never fished Oroville, that would be interesting, about the coyote open, how would the muscle inspections factor into the plan?

I don't know why anyone would want to fish Folsom. Oroville has alot of areas that would be good for tube access. I was born, raised and worked For California State Parks at Oroville. I am at Millerton lake now. Don't waste your time at Millerton Lake. Here is a list of a few lakes I would suggest.
Oroville, Collins, Clear Lake, Delta, Don Pedro, McClure, Eastman, Los Banos.
Hopefully this coming year I will be able to join you all in a few of these tournaments.

We use to fish Millerton and McClure back when the club first started. They can be fun lakes at times. Here is a pic of me at Millerton with a largie and my ol buddy E with a nice McClure Largie.

Its fun to brouse through the BNT History pics and see how we have changed and the old faces.

Thats a nice fish for Millerton. Over the last four years that I have been at Millerton, the 5 fish limits weigh in at less than 10 pounds. The last few tournaments have had 5 fish at 7 pounds.

With a one region schedule I would say B-n-T should keep the Opens, they have great turn outs and attract prospective members.

Damn a Calero tourney would be cool. Tell me more about Calero at night Rob.

I think a CBT open at Calero would be a nice switch from Coyote res. anyhow. Only problem is they open up so late at Calero. I wonder if we could get them to open early for us? LMAO... SC County parks open early, ya right! Worth looking into I suppose, all they can do is say no and we are no worse off than we are now right. Get on that Rob!

Whites in April is always awesome. Of course MR would be in the mix.

Ok, so I haven't anted up to join yet, but I thought I'd pitch in a suggestion anyway...

Stevens Creek Res. is great all the way through Spring and Early Summer.

I like the Delta events a lot.
Del Valle is a good one.
Chabot, Shadowcliffs.. etc.
I've heard stories about Sonoma too.

Anyhow, thank you for having a forum where I can tell you I like your events and share my thoughts.
I look forward to fishing some of them next year.
