Rocklin, Calif. - January 9, 2008 – On January 1, 2008, a new ranking system was announced to rank the more than 900 professional anglers in the Western United States that have competed in any or all of the FLW Series National Guard Western Division, FLW Stren Series and WON Bass Northern or Southern Division Pro Ams, and The U.S. Open events since 2006.

On Monday January 14, the W.A.R. Report goes live for the first time, and the fishing industry will know who the best professional tournament anglers in the West are.

Prior to the initial publishing, the general public can reap the rewards by entering a contest, called the “West’s Top 10,” that will coincide with the January 14 release of the first W.A.R. Report. The “West’s Top 10” contest is sponsored by West Marine, Westernbass.com, e21 Fishing Rods, Stowmaster Nets, River2Sea USA and ABT Swimbaits.

Anybody can enter, and it is easy to win, simply enter who you think the top 10 W.A.R. Report pros will be when it is published January 14. Click the contest link at the bottom of this page and fill in your contact information and the names of the pros you think will be in the top 10; in ranked order, click the submit button to enter your guesses. The contestant with the most correct guesses will win the top prize. (Only one entry per person will be accepted).

The prizes will be as follows:
1st place – One e21 Carrot Stix Rod (Model provided by e21 Fishing and sold at West Marine)
2nd place – One Powell Rod (Model provided by Keith Bryan of Powell Rods and WesternBass.com)
3rd place – One Stowmaster Tournament Series Net (Provided by Stowmaster and sold at West Marine)
4t place – River2Sea Tackle Pack (Provided by River2Sea USA and sold at West Marine)
5th place – Two ABT Soft Series Wagtail Swimbaits (Provided by ABT Swimbaits and sold at West Marine)

In the event of a tie, or ties, the like entries will be put into a random drawing for the prizes; winners will be announced on Thursday January 17, 2008.

Winners will be announced on Westernbass.com forums and notified by the email entered in their official entry form.
