I went down a month ago.
Unfortunately, there was a very strong wind when we were there.
We went out with the Solmar Fleet for 8 hours, it was 75$ per person+ mexican sportfishing license and bait.
They had equipment on the boat, maybe not top-of-the-line, but we had Tuna Sticks with Senator reels.
If you want to bring your own stuff, don't forget to put your reels in your luggage, and not in the cabinluggage. I think the limit for reels is 10 per man, if you bring more they consider it that it is for sale purpose.
If you want to try surfcasting for Roosterfish etc. a 8 foot rod with a Calcutta 400 loaded with 20-25 lbs monofilament is a good combination.
