#15662, "Baccarac Mexico....No BS!"

We just returned from Baccarac and I can tell you that it was the best fishing experience of my entire life. The number of quality 3-7 lb fish that we caught was staggering. I'm afraid that I'm spoiled and will have severe withdrawal issues very soon. My gut is totally bruised from hooksets and my thumb is raw. These fish are so strong that even the 4 lb'ers about rip the rod from your hands. The topwater action was incredible on poppers, spooks, and propbaits. We averaged 80-125 fish per day with about half of them on topwater in the AM. We caught 6 fish over 8lbs on topwater and 3 between 10-13 lbs on big lizzards in watermelon and green pumpkin, tails dipped. You could catch more numbers if you beat the bank with worms and lizzards, but the size was better a little deeper. Two guys did well with the blade also, and deep diving cranks produced many quality fish on deeper points.

We arranged it though Pro Bass Adventures (www.mexicofishing.net) and stayed at Lake Baccarac Lodge and it was first class. The girls woke us up with coffee in the rooms before breakfast, and were always there to greet us with a margarita or ice cold brewski when we returned from the lake for lunch and dinner. Food/beer/margs were awesome, boats and guides were great. It was really nice coming in at nite, hitting the shower, then hanging out on the palapa overlooking the lake while sharing stories and having a few margs before dinner. After dinner the margarita action continued under the palapa.....much too late some nights. I'll be heading back down as soon as I can figure out how to pull it off. Great experience.
