Hiked and shore fished today, all day, all over SD. I fished 7 different ponds today. Started out bright and early throwing swimbaits. Caught this beautiful 5 lber on a 7” Rago generic smelt. Her name was Miguel, but she called herself Lil, and everyone knew her a Nancy. First fish of the year!!

Downsized a bit and got hammered on the Mattgilly but missed the hook set when I almost fell off a rock. A little while later I caught this dude on the Golden Gilly.

While I was shooting this shot, I was stepping in fresh human fecal matter. This really blew my mind, that fact that me, an over-fared, long haired, leaping gnome, should be standing in human fecal matter. There I was….

I ended the day with 5 lmb and a whole lot of burnt calories. Can’t wait to do it again tomorrow.

Please don’t ask me specifically where these ponds are. They are everywhere. They’re the same ones you live by or drive past everyday. I firmly believe every pond in SD county has a 5 lb bass in it. Go get em!!

On another topic since I started hiking and walking a few weeks ago, I’ve lost 13lbs. Look out world. That is all.
