Pan, any accessible shore access will yield a great bounty on the bass, not to mention, everything else that swims in the reservoir. I know shore access is limited but it is well worth the effort to find any available. Trout, big Catfish, huge Carp, titanic Bluegill and the occasional fat Crappie are all off the hook in there. When the water is high the best spot for bass is on the East side, in the area where the East fork enters the reservoir. There is alot of tuleys and stick-ups all over that area and it holds big numbers but not necessarily big fish. Don't get me wrong, there are some pretty big bass to be caught but overall the quantity outweighs the quality. Take the East fork road across the bridge to Follows Camp and hike down the stream to the area. Following the stream opposite the side the road is on will take you there. It's a hike in a half but the spoils will definately make up for it. But anywhere you can find access to is really good. Bring an extra rod for Cats and/or Carp, too. Chicken liver, chovies or Mackeral are my favorite baits for cats and corn( oops, did I say corn?;-) )is the best of the best for Carp. Just make sure you have your license in plain view and you won't get hassled , if not...... Now I don't know about floatubes but you might want to inquire with certain authorities if they're allowed. That might be the ticket. Good luck and let me know how you did if you go.
