I own two of them. They are nice for trolling, you can feel every twist the fish makes during the fight. I have not used them for casting though. The wire cord that comes with it for rigging it and bringing the line through the center of the rod can get easily twisted and messed up. If this happens , you will have a heck of a time getting the line through the rod. You will not be able to salvage it either. You will have to get a new wire. I wish the end of the rod had a bigger opening for allowing the line through. I planned on using for leadcore but it will not allow the knot that joins the lines through the tip. Trolling with monofilament works fine however. Getting the rod rigged it was sucks. If you leave it together rigged when you get home I would think that is the only way to go, this way you are not having to contend with it while on the water.
