Went up to Rob's old stompin grounds to pre-fish the Bass Club tournament with Brian Kettler. Got up there Saturday around noon or so. Water was @$$. Super muddy and around 54-58 degrees at most areas. Weather was weird. One minute (literally) it would be blazing hot, the next the sun would go behind a cloud and the wind would pick up and you'd need a jacket. We went around throwin jigs at wood and runnin crankbaits around, but couldn't even get touched. We headed in before it got dark to prepare the campsite. Sunday morning I got up late while Kettler got up early to go to weigh in. When I got up, I jumped in the float tube (new proline by the way) and ate lunch (yeah, I ate lunch when I woke up...) and kicked around and fished, but didn't get touched. Using a 4" senko I measured the visibility at 3". Those senkos really ARE versatile :-) Saw #2 and he reported he had 2 fish. That was awesome as I knew it would be a tough day for most people. At weigh in, turns out 3 people caught fish out of 17. Kettler had 2, Dennis had 2 and Rich had 1 (I think those are the right names...Brian???) So, with 4 even Rich had third with a nice fish, Kettler had 2 smaller fish for 4-03 and edged out Rich for second and Dennis had a brute of 4-03 and another smaller one for 6 and change. So Brian ends up with his best tournament finish to date. Nice work #2. BTW he caught his fish on plastic worms. -Brian
