Fished Xanadu for a couple hours Wednesday evening. Taking advantage of the sundown bite. Fished with Austin and Santeetuber. Only got one bite, hooked up and watched him jump and shake the spinnerbait loose. Went home skunked.

Always in pursuit of Big Moe. I prepared for a marathon River tubing weekend. I left the finesse gear at home. Got up Saturday, filled my truck with iced drinks and snacks and fished Mission Valley’s river ponds all day alone. I fished long and hard for a total of 5 small bass. Sunday, gave my power boat a tune up then rolled over to Santee to finish the marathon. Couldn’t get bit. I fished my best spots, plus some old spots I’ve long neglected,…Nothing. Just as I’m coming in down the final stretch, with less than a dozen cast to go. I hook up a nice fish(5ish?) on a 6” Yamamoto spider. Amazingly, I managed to keep her out of the trees. Just as I start to pat myself on the back for finally getting a nice one, she came off. I went home skunked.

I talked to this chicken for a while, he got visibly annoyed when I called him a duck.

Everywhere I fished, there were large threadfin shad. Millions of them.
