My dad and I went up below ellery lake last week and fished the creek that leaves the lake.We did excellent on rainbows and one brown.I used mostly CD5 and CD7 rapalas in rainbow trout color and gold & black.Most of the fish came out of the whitewater and not in the slow moving pools of water.It was very cold with the nights around 20-25 degrees.No people and lots of fish.Traffic wasn't that bad either.We camped along the creek and ate like kings.Watch out for the bears however as the problem bears from Yosemite get transported to this area.
