I moved up to the Bay Area from Santa Barbara a few years ago and left all my gear behind. I haven't done any fishing since then (aside from a couple random saltwater trips).

I'm now slowly starting to get back into fishing again. I don't currently have a boat or float tube, so does anyone have recommendations for freshwater spots that I can fish from shore this winter? Or places that I can rent a boat and fish? I'd like to target bass, but I'll take anything that'll stay on the hook. Thanks!

Also wanted to add that I'm in Berkeley so I'm looking for places in and around the East Bay to fish.
