I hit the bay on the 4th and like usual it was wide. All you want on the bay bass using the chovies. Too bad it took so long to get warm as the land tuna were scarce due to the cooler weather, that is until the afternoon - many neck turning sightings. We got 4 nice halibut that were 20 - 22 inches,letting them all go. I even got a rat calico near the entrance. I was really surprised that the sand bass were hitting as well a they did. Fishing out of the high performance skiffs that Daveys Locker had really made the day very enjoyable. Reaching top speeds of 3mph from spot to spot made the day go by very quick. We caught some god awful fish that had the body of an eel and the mouth was full of nasy teeth with two big teeth coming down from the top of the mouth curving inward. The mouth was shaped like a lingcod and it was slimy like a cuda. Anyone know what this thing might have been ? We took some shots and I will get them developed but I have never seen anything soo ugly. I'm thinking it came out of one those storm drains - someone "flushed" it out ????!!!!!
