#5565, "September 4, 2002 - Quarry Ponds"

I haven't been to the Quarry Ponds in a while, but I headed over and fished from shore after work tonight for an hour and a half. Weather was nice and cool for a change and it seemed like I might actually catch a few. Sure enough I caught one 13 inch largemouth from the rainbow pond on a speed trap, and one smallie about the same size from the horseshoe pond on an Assalt spider grub in the irish whiskey color. Felt kind of nice to catch a jig fish, even if it wasn't a big one. I had two other bites on the jig, smallie bites for sure, but they just tugged at it and then dropped it when I set the hook. I saw Swampy and LzyFish heading home. They were kickboating on Horseshoe pond, but I don't know how they did.

Here's Mr. Smallie
