I fish bass so I'm not much help when it comes to catfish but I do see some being caught at these lakes from time to time on standard catfish baits. It's much harder to get bit but when you do get bit it's ussually a nicer fish. I can't find any pattern that works consistently there. The water is so low that the lake is actually two lakes now. Even with the lake split both sides are very deep. There's trees exposed that I didn't even know exsisted when the water was up. This was a rock quarry and if you have ever seen it's obvious it was a quarry. I don't know when it actually became open to the public but I got a picture of my father and I fishing there that's at least 25 years old.
Santa Fe is good for bass mostly smaller fish. There are spots all over the lake but too many people practice catch and kill here not many big fish. Puddingstone is better than either of these places and worth the extra 15 minutes of driving if you have the time. Good luck.
