Fished HH after work from like 7pm-9pm with my younger bro. There were 2 other tubers out there by the grey buoys so we decided to see what was up. As we approached, they yelled at us to come over there bcoz it was wide open spotties! So we kicked over there and I didnt have much on my first few casts. But they kept on hooking up... nice ones too... 14-16"+ ... so i changed to a 3/4 ounce lead head with a brown 5" fish trap. They were using these TINY mini swim baits... so i went bigger. The spotties were cruising the eel grass 30" feet beyond the grey buoys. We cast from the buoys straight into the grass. Lots of hookups on grass! But as i got the feel for it, I got hit. Had a nice legal spotty. Had a few more bites... but then it started to go off. It went off in waves. We'd all cast in... and there'd be nothing. Then all of a sudden, the guy next to me was on.... then me and then my brother. I had 2 HUGE spotties... atleast 20+. It was way longer than my stabalizer bar! On a Sporty, it woulda been a nice sand bass. That was my 2 largest sand bass. All in all, a great 2 hours of tubing. It was REALLY HIGH tide.
