#7634, "Question about grubbing for Barred Surf Perch"
|
Yesterday I picked up two packages of Kalin's 1.5" Motor Oil Grubs. One package is Gold Flake and the other Red.
I plan on Carolina rigging them for Bardies in the surf. Earlier this summer, I tried using grubs but without any luck and now I think I know why.
I was casting them out around 25 to 35 yards and immediately commencing a slow retrieve torward shore. A guy I was talking with yesterday said to cast them out into about waist deep water and let it lie there and roll with the current taking care to keep up the slack line of course.
He said the action of the current wil attract the Perch to it and thats it.
Do any of you have a technique that you use that could be added to this one? I'm going down to Wisconsin Street south of the Oceanside Pier this morning to try my luck.
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
