#778, "August 27, Halibut Tournament"
|
Well, we didn't have quite the turnout I was hoping for. I guess because of the short notice, but next month's will be on the 23rd, so you've got plenty of time to plan. We're also gonna try to do some advertisting to rustle up some tubers. Anyway, the 6 of us (myself, Frank, Pete, Marco, Matt and Michael) ended up launching at like 7 on account of everybody being late (hey, I was there since 5:15...) So, me and Frank hit the slough while Pete hit the rock and everybody else went to campus point. Frank pulled a short followed by a nice legal (24"). A little later I managed a short, but that was it. Frank caught multiple shorts after that and a short wsb. At weigh in only two legals were brought in. One by Marco and one by Frank. Marco won over Frank, with his fish weighing 5-6 and Frank's 4-4. So I think all went well. We had a good time and hopefully we'll get a little better turnout next month. Seemed like a lot of people were interested when I first brought up the idea, then when it came down to it people backed out. Maybe with a little more notice people can make plans. -Brian
