#10703, "Week At Catalina"

Headed out to the island last Tuesday on my buddys Skipjack and just got back.

Lots of calicos, a few barries, a huge sculpin, and some mixed small perch and stuff was the story. Had a yellow of about 12 lbs. chase a krokodile but no takers. The calico average was probably around 12 in. with no big fish caught.

Now my buddy doesnt have much faith in plastics, and this morning about 1/2 hour before heading home, I caught a nice 2 lb. calico on a fish trap. After that, he asked what color the bait was;-). Wish that fish was on a Big Hammer.

Overall great fishing and a good time.

One question though. On the way home, we saw something moving around that had 5 or 6 long black spikes coming out of the water. Any ideas?
