Got my float tube on Saturday. So decided to hit up Cherry Beach (I think). Parked on 3rd Place in Long Beach and walked to the beach. Lost half my bait to the waves because I forgot to close the lid to my homemade bait tank. Got out about 40 yard and toss back my bait about 10 yards towards the shore. When my bait hit the bottom I could feel that it was freakin out. About five seconds later it got bit. Gave it some line and set it. Finally got it to color. A big beautiful hali, 29 inches. Missed another 3 good hits. Left around 9:30.

Even though I caught the hali on a float tube, the hali was caught 30 yards from shore, making it very catchable for shore anglers.
