Got a call from a buddy telling me that I haven't been contributing to the "Bill Foundation" as of lately. He knows that I fish alot and not alot of eating so that's why he started that foundation just for me. I figure I'll head down to Newport and catch a bass or two. Anyways got to Newport around 6:15. Kinda breezy but very fishable. First hour nothing but about 6 short bites. Finally hooking up to something that's taking line like crazy. Finally it got tire and I was able to slowly ease him up. Got it up and found a 26 inch hali at the end of my line. Fished for another 2 hours for 2 herring and lots of short bites. Finished around 9. Didn't even get a bass. Maybe the bass only wanted live ones today because the people who rented skiffs at Davies was landing some.
