#139, "December 18 - On the Stardust"

Mike Edwards and I took the Stardust out on the morning run. We started in 60 ft. water right straight out from Goleta Pier and caught some decent rockfish and then headed out deeper (200 ft.) and caught some pretty nice ones (5 lb. ). I pretty much stuck to a 5 in. plastic swimbait with a small strip of squid. In the deeper water I was using a 1 1/2 oz. head with a 3 oz. egg sinker and a plastic bead in front of it. I caught fish on Olive and White but White seemed to work the best. I think having a big plastic on there helped weed out the small fish. A few small lings were caught also.
