Due to a series of unrelated events, I started making my own inshore spinnerbaits.

I contacted a couple a friends and we set out to field test the new lures. Could it BE anymore windy? The original plan was to fish the kelp forest but the waves off of PL were borderline scary. We turned around and headed to Zuniga. Rodeo fishing was the name of the game, if you could stand up long enough, you might catch a fish.

I caught this dude The first fish of the day. I named him Nice Eli and then let him go.

Right off the jetty.

After a couple of jetty drifts we went into the harbor to try the baits in deep water. Fishing was pretty good considering the hella-winds. We caught tons of fish but nothing too big. BrettD was hot stick.

Lots of same halis gobbled the blades. This was the biggest one,…a 21”er.
