#228, "SEAHAWK LXV 3/4 day"

Well, i flew back into town from north carolina yesterday, and today with jet lag and all, jumped on the seahawk. the stardust was chartered, and i hadn't been on the seahawk for a while, so i charged it. first spot we hit was down tijuigas way. as soon as we rolled up, the whitefish went off. really, really good quality fish coming in. they were channel island style. everybody got whitefish. i got 5, my biggest a 3 pounder, my smallest a 2. once that stopped biting (or we caught all of them) we made a run out to platform holly. merit kept the boat tight on the rig, boiler rock style, and with 6-8 oz. and tired forearms, we managed a few small rockfish. some small sole were also caught. i think i had like 4 or 5 small rockfish on that spot. we tried a couple stops on the way back toward the harbor, including one for barracuda, but nothing became of them. while sitting outside of the harbor while the deckhand cleaned fish, i got a 12 inch calico on plastic. those whitefish were really fun, those big ones really fight hard. they've got that notorious pump pump that never gives up. ok, good day today, hopefully it'll hold up for a couple weeks.
