#3424, "Newport Bay"

The bite was good the other day for small white seabass, yellowfin coraker, bay bass, small halibut. The best bite was directly in front of the shell fuel dock. Also back inside the shell fuel dock. The longer docks as you leave the bay on the left hand side were really good for flippin the bay bass.We used the sardines/anchovies on 12lb with a 1/4 oz sliding egg sinker all the way down to the hook.Flippin the shady side of the dock just as you would fish largemouth is the name of the game.Go during the week if you can to get away from all the boat traffic, plus there are more boats in their slips which provides more fishing spots. As long as people keep on releasing those bay bass the bite will always be good.
