#10164, "HBC....My story"

I was lucky enough to be a VTO and drew Matt Newman. For as crappy as the day was it didn’t seem so bad as Matt and I joked around about it being “one of those days.” First off the rain was coming down so hard that I couldn’t keep the video camera dry. I attempted to use an umbrella which the wind instantly turned it inside out. I ended up opting to stick my head into the trash bag that I had the camera wrapped up in. Next thing to happen was me deciding to turn the camera off and not 5 seconds later Matt sets the hook on a fish and fights it half way back in before I can get the camera back on. I felt like a jack a$$ for missing it.After that I decided to just hold the camera on him for the rest of the day. I got lucky and about 15 minutes later I was able to get another fish that Matt caught on tape. That was pretty cool. We made a short move and that’s when the really bad luck started……His batteries when dead. We were unable to hold onto any of the wind blown areas. About and hour after that Matt was reeling in his swimbait and I said something to him and as he starts to answer I see his rod go bendo for about 2 seconds and then the fish came unbuttoned. The only thing to show for that was a scale on the top hook. Talk about a bad feeling.

There were a lot of other things that happened that just sucked for him. But I have to give him credit; He kept a smile on his face and just laughed about it. I honestly believe that if he was able to hold on a couple of his spots he would have stuck a decent fish.

I was also lucky enough to see some porno action. It was pretty funny to see two popular pros (Byron and Newman) showing off their favorite humping positions.Sorry guys I turned off the camera when that went down. It was defiantly a riot.

Last but not least I got a chance to meet some of the guys from up North (Super Matt and Rob B. aka: Swimbait) along with some others and they were all cool heads.

Northern Cali now holds the belt!!!!!!
