I would think this would be worse for snagging. When I would kill mine it would land on the bottom resting on it's hooks. I lost the lure before I got a chance to trade out the hooks for some lighter ones that might have made it fall slower. I think if you could remove 1 or 2 of the 3 tungsten balls, it might actually either float or be neutrally bouyant. I plan on buying 2 more if I can find them on sale for under $8. Then I'll play mad scientist on them. }(
