I'd stick to the 5:1, the 3.8:1 is too slow in my opinion- even throwing the DD-22, that's what I got the 3.8 for, if you ever want to gain line for another cast it sucks. You can always slow down with the 5:1, pretty close to the Calcutta, but you can't speed up the 3.8, you could wear out your arm trying to get your line back if you missed a target. Mind over matter, just slow it down with the 5:1 If a big girl ate the swimbait and started swimming towards you, good luck-
