I don't know Tim Horton. He's no doubt quite a fisherman. I just don't think that heavy braided line on heavy gear is good for fishing big fish at close range. You tear holes in the lip too easily with gear like that and when the fish shakes it's head, it throws slack because there is no stretch in the line to account for the sudden release in tension.

If I was on a fish like that, that would bite stupid easy, I'd throw 30 mono, with texas rig plastic and a standard offset shank worm hook, preferably 2x strong. JMO
