Depending on rainfall, river flows, and weather, late May or early June should be prime time for some river exporation. There is one 6 - 8 mile stretch of the Merced with TONS of backwater sloughs that would be PRIME for late Spring / early Summer. The water should be warming up at that time and the fish will be getting active, especially in the backwater areas. I'll keep an eye on the flows and get back with some detailed information.
